Home Groups
Find Community. Grow Spiritually. Belong.
Home Groups are weekly gatherings that meet in homes across the valley. They’re the best way to build real friendships, study God’s Word, and find support in everyday life. Home groups just finished their fall semester and will resume in the spring with an exciting new format. Be sure to return to this website and sign-up for a group near you. We will begin announcing sign-ups in our weekend services early next year.

Coach Questions
What does a Home Group Coach do?
Coaches care for and support Home Group Leaders. They pray for leaders, check in regularly, encourage them, and help problem-solve challenges.
How many leaders does a coach oversee?
Typically up to 5 leaders, allowing for meaningful relationships and manageable care.
How much time does coaching require?
Most coaches spend:
- Monthly check-in with leaders- (phone-online-in person)
- Occasional huddles (can be done in 10 minutes during in weekend services)
- Prayer and encouragement throughout the month as needed
- One training time each semester- (typically 1 hour with other coaches)
- A coach may also be a facilitator if time allows
Who is a good fit to be a coach?
Coaches are typically people who:
- Are spiritually mature
- Enjoy encouraging others
- Are good listeners
- Have a shepherd’s heart
- Are dependable and relational
Do coaches need prior group leadership experience?
Yes, typically coaches have experience leading groups or serving in leadership roles, but we also consider spiritual maturity and relational wisdom.
Facilitator Questions
What does a Home Group Leader do?
Leaders facilitate a group by:
- Creating a welcoming environment
- Guiding discussion
- Encouraging participation
- Praying for group members
- Communicating with their coach
Do I have to teach?
No. Leaders facilitate conversation using provided discussion guides or curriculum. You’re guiding dialogue, not delivering sermons.
What kind of groups can I facilitate?
For this upcoming semester beginning March 1st 2026, groups will all be using sermon based questions which will be provided each week and sent to facilitators by Monday evening after the weekend message. In future semesters we may be offering other options as listed below.

- Bible studies- curriculum approved by leadership
- Interest-based groups- with a Bible/care component
- Support or topical groups
How much time does facilitating a group take?
Typically:
- One meeting per week or every other week- 90 minutes
- Light preparation- have a handle on your topic
- Occasional communication with your coach- as needed
What if I’ve never facilitated before?
Many leaders start with a semester group. Training, coaching, and resources are provided to help you succeed.
Host Home Questions
What does a Host Home do?
Host homes provide a welcoming space for a group to meet. Hosts help create a comfortable, inviting atmosphere but do not need to lead or teach.

No. Hosting and leading are separate roles. Some hosts choose to lead, but many simply open their home.

Does my home need to be large or perfect?
Absolutely not. A clean, welcoming space is all that’s needed. Groups gather around tables and couches — not perfection.
How often would my home be used?
That depends on the group type: We are currently using the semester based model
- Semester Groups: 10–12 weeks
- You may choose the day or evening you prefer
What about childcare?
Childcare varies by group and location. Some groups arrange shared childcare, others welcome kids, and some are adults-only. This is discussed and agreed upon before launch.
